Brigitte was born and educated in Germany and graduated from the "Kunstschule am Alsterdam" in Hamburg. After moving to the United States, she studied watercolour painting with Edgar Whitney, Rex Brandt, Ray Loos, and Don Dennis. Brigitte spent 10 years on Hilton Head Island, painting South Carolina's Low Country before settling in her husband's native country, The Bahamas. She now lives and works on an island in the Abacos. Brigitte's usual landscapes, seascapes and travel sketches are displayed in many banks, hotels, and corporate institutions as well as in countless private homes all over the world. Her works are owned by such collectors as novelist Pat Conroy, the former British High Commissioner to the Bahamas Mr. Michael Gore, and Sir and Mrs. Sean Connery. Brigitte has won over 70 awards for her work. Many of these were first and best of show prizes, like the First Awards at the Womens' Arty Club of Cincinatti, The Central Ohio Watercolor Society and the Longbranch Art Association of Nassau, Bahamas. She was featured in "The Artist" magazine with her article on "How to Plan Your Painting". | |||||||||
