Jewelry
Hi. Thanks for visiting the Conch Pearl website. I'm Peter Bradley, the jeweller/gemologist for the gallery. I was born and raised in England where I began my professional life as a teacher of British Service children. That career took me to Hong Kong, Singapore, and to Cherokee Sound in Abaco, Bahamas. In each location I learned techniques of making jewelry, my secret second career. When Jo and I married over thirty years ago we moved to her home in Southwest Florida and there I fully developed my jewelry career. I graduated from Trenton Jewelry School in Memphis Tennessee as a bench jeweler, and apprenticed to Stanley Otascki, in Fort Myers, Florida. At the same time I studied and graduated from the Gemological Institute of America as a Graduate Gemologist.
As my career proceeded I opened a jewelry store in Fort Myers that was very successful, and adding to that success, changed locations and opened again at an upscale mall. Both stores specialized in custom pieces and our customers appreciated the results.
When Jo and I retired we returned to Cherokee Sound in Abaco. I promptly "flunked" retirement and jumped at the chance to work for my former student from Cherokee, Trevor Sawyer, as the jeweller/gemologist for Conch Pearl Galleries, Ltd. As you look through the site, please enjoy samples of my best work to date.
