Karen Hewitt Hagan's paintings offer a compelling combination of dramatic light and rugged beauty. She has studied with many contemporary master painters as well as studied the works of inspirational historical painters. Her painterly style has developed over the years, steeped in tradition but unique and completely her own. "Capturing the feeling or mood of a place or of the model is very important to me. It's my one chance to share the emotions that lead me to paint the subject." Hagan's paintings hang in numerous private, corporate and yacht collections in the US and abroad including the exclusive "Sanctuary Resot" at Kiawah Island, SC. Her work has been included in many invitational exhibitions and juried shows including the Carmel Plein Air Painting Competition on Carmel California and recently she was presented with the Fraser Fox Award of Excellence at the COPA Plein Air Painting Annual in Charleston, SC. On Abaco she paints in her studio aboard MV Plein Air anchored in Marsh Harbour and on location in surrounding cays. She is represented in the Bahamas by Conch Pearl Galleries, Ltd. in Marsh Harbour. | |||||||||
