He was born in London, England and first studied art at the Landsdowne College of Art in Bournemouth, England. He pursued a career in the graphic arts both in England and later in Toronto, Canada. Here he ran his own business of photographic retouching and illusrtation in the advertising field. During this time his interest in fine art took him back to study life drawing at the Ontario College of Art. He began working with pencil and pen and ink in his spare time and also produced a number of oil paintings for freinds and "to keep his hand loose." Some years later he became interested in working with watercolour. Time spent sailing the waters of the Caribbean and the Bahamas, stimulated a desire to capture the brilliant and translucent colours of the tropics. Watercolour seemed the perfect medium. He has completed many commissions of the various areas where he has roamed and lived. Included among these are land and seascapes, sailing and power vessels, historical buildings, community life and places of interest. His work is exhibited in Ontario, Canada, Florida, Virginia, and at Conch Pearl Galleries in the Bahamas. | |||||||||
