Born in the U.K., the son of a forester, Mick Guy was raised at Logleat, the Estate of the Marquise of Bath. At the Age of 16 he joined the army and served in various parts of the world. In 1974 he was posted to nassau, Bahamas andit was here that he met and married his late wife, Sheila Johnson, left the army , set down roots and raised a family. Mick was first introduced to wood turning in high school, where he turned is first bowl. he started woodturning seriously in April 2003 after completing a three-day course with the well known Bahamian wood turner Roddie Pinder.
